    Woolworths as part of a tour of northern Australia and took the opportunity to present graduates with certificates to mark their involvement and hear about their experiences during the three week program The Kimberley Pre Employment Program is run by Kimberly Personnel and Kimberley Employment Services and aims to prepare long term unemployed and indigenous participants for employment Mr O Brien said It was fantastic to meet with graduates who have been working in our store and the leaders involved in the program to hear about the fantastic work they are doing to provide employment opportunities in the local area Woolworths is committed to growing jobs and supports a diverse workforce and indigenous employment opportunities The partnership between these employment organisations and Woolworths is a great example of how that is working Program Director Tim Noles from Training 4 Business said he had been overwhelmed by the change in attitude and outlook in the participants over a relatively short period It is amazing to see how they ve opened up just by being given the chance to do something positive like this We are so grateful to Woolworths simply for giving them the opportunity It has achieved astounding results already Mr Noles said Lyndon Aitken has successfully completed the program and says he found it very useful and it has opened his eyes to career possibilities Mr Aitken said The program was great I was able to learn all about how the store operates and was thankful to be given a chance Woolworths has a proud track record in job creation and supporting partners to grow We employ 179 000 Australians and in 2013 created almost 7 000 new jobs across the country This means on average 157 people started a job with us every day including 87 young people
