    to put her side in the box seat Burns scored 90 from 50 deliveries crunching 10 boundaries and four sixes before being run out by Emily McIntyre With the help of a handy 21 from Corrine Hall the Roar finished at 6 165 Strano was the VicSpirit s only multiple wicket taker finishing with 2 24 from four whilst Kristen Beams and Brianna Binch took one apiece The VicSpirit got away to an encouraging start to the tough run chase but were under pressure when Elyse Villani 6 and Meg Lanning 19 were out in quick succession From then a steady flow of wickets followed for the VicSpirit until a 49 run stand for the seventh wicket between Emily McIntyre and Briana Binch provided a glimmer of hope McIntyre was the highest scorer for the VicSpirit with a brutal 45 from 21 balls which included five fours and two over the ropes Brooke Hepburn led the way with the ball for the Roar taking 3 22 whist Anita Silva claimed 2 18 both from a trio of overs VicSpirit coach Cathryn Fitzpatrick said that the team was simply outplayed and that there were no excuses for the performance We just made to many mistakes to be honest from a fielding point of view we got some early wickets but we were unable to keep pressure on them Fitzpatrick said The chase wasn t beyond us we just lost wickets through some poor decisions and taking risks we didn t need to take It was disappointing because they day before we only lost a couple wickets making that score in less overs The loss puts some pressure onto the VicSpirit for Sunday s match their last before the new year Everything is up to us in terms of where the table
