    Spirit 1 7 Emma Inglis looked good at the crease before she was caught on 14 bringing skipper Kelly Applebee to the crease with Lanning The duo put on 86 for the fourth wicket broken when Applebee was bowled on 42 after giving the VicSpirit a solid foundation at 3 144 From there it was all Lanning who displayed every shot in the book in her 175 setting up the VicSpirit s massive score of 8 286 The VicSpirit s response with the ball wasn t immediate with Meteor openers Laura Wright and Asha Smith putting on 89 for the first wicket before Strano struck to dismiss Smith From there it was all the VicSpirit with a consistent flow of wickets including three without the Meteors scoring to have them 6 136 A last wicket partnership of 43 between Kate Owen and Sally Moylan delayed the VicSpirit win which was sealed by Strano with the Meteors at 221 65 runs off the pace from the VicSpirit Beams led the way with the ball with 4 32 from her 10 overs whilst Strano finished with 4 45 from 8 2 Run machine Meg Lanning said it was imperative for the side that the top order did the bulk of the scoring I took my time early on in the innings with the early wicket we lost I made sure I got set and then cashed in at the end Lanning said We had a few good partnerships at the top with Emma Inglis and Kelly Applebee which was important in setting up the total We lost four relatively quick wickets so once that happened I had to try and bat as many over as I could and get late into the innings the outfield is lighting fast so I was quite
