    batting first the VicSpirit drew first blood with Emily McIntyre taking the prized scalp of opener Alyssa Healy in the opening over The early wicket brought skipper Alex Blackwell to the crease top scoring for her side with 43 from 35 deliveries before Kristen Beams brought her downfall Blackwell combined with Rachael Haynes 37 and Sarah Coyte 26 to get the visitors to the defendable total of 6 173 No VicSpirit bowlers were able to take multiple wickets with McIntyre Beams Kristy Lamb Kath Hempenstall and Sarah Elliott all claiming one scalp each The VicSpirit s run chase got off to a great start with a flurry of boundaries from openers Meg Lanning 13 and Ellyse Villani 12 before both departed in quick succession along with Jess Cameron to have the home side in trouble at 3 28 VicSpirit captain Emma Inglis fought hard at the crease and was her sides best with 34 but her three boundaries and one six failed to lessen a run rate which was growing well into double figures Any chance of what was a near impossible win disappeared when Inglis was trapped LBW by spinner Angela Reakes leaving the VicSpirit at 6 79 A late 14 from Sarah Elliott ensured the VicSpirit reached triple figures before a 21 run stand for the last wicket between Kristen Beams 14 and Molly Strano 5 saw out the final overs finishing at 9 123 NSW which has tasted defeat at the hands of the VicSpirit in each of the past three WT20 finals will not meet Western Australia for the 2012 13 crown Meanwhile Queensland has finished second on the WNCL home and away ladder to set up a semi final clash with the VicSpirit in Sydney on Friday NSW will meet Western Australia in the opposite
