  • Ban on Petrol Discount Display Boards but motorists still hurting – Russell Northe
and that being high fuel prices Mr Northe said under the proposed changes petrol stations will only be able to advertise the full price of fuel to motorists The bans will help to avoid confusion for consumers at the bowser however the price of fuel itself is the biggest issue Mr Northe said Recently in Parliament Mr Northe called on the Victorian Government to support a thorough investigation into the high fuel prices in Latrobe Valley Local motorists and businesses in the Latrobe Valley are paying much higher fuel prices than communities to the east west and south Mr Northe said Recently Morwell had recorded the highest fuel prices across the state on average Mr Northe has once again written to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission requesting an investigation into fuel prices in Latrobe Valley The Victorian Government needs to be cracking down on suppliers who don t pass the savings on to consumers Mr Northe said Mr Northe said these changes might help drivers better understand what they re paying for petrol but when it comes to actually reducing cost of living pressures the Andrews Labor Government had been all talk and no action The Coalition understands that the cost of living including transport costs is putting pressure on Gippsland households and businesses as they try to balance their budgets That s why the Coalition established our Costwatch initiative so we can hear directly from Victorians about the cost pressures they face as well as ideas on how they can be eased Media contact 5133 9088 Share this post Facebook Twitter Google LinkedIn Related posts Northe stands up for CFA volunteers April 29 2016 Nationals support Telstra Business Women s Awards April 28 2016 Budget a disappointment for Latrobe Valley April 27 2016 Upcoming Community Events Latrobe City
