    2050 if enough sensible people unite around the world in a common cause Climate change is an enormous problem which cannot be solved solely through the effort of a few countries and corporations It is of paramount importance that many enterprises address this issue seriously in their communications and visions Gist of the Communiqué The Cancun Communiqué calls for global agreement on the following five key areas of action 1 Energy efficiency across all sectors 2 Low carbon energy systems 3 Carbon Capture and Storage CCS 4 Emissions from other greenhouse gases 5 Urban planning land use management and land use change Reasons for Ricoh s endorsement Ricoh aspires to help create a sustainable society in which the environmental impact of society is reduced and maintained within the self recovery capacity of the Earth so as to pass a sound rich in nature global environment down to future generations Toward this end we believe that collaboration between industrialized and developing nations is crucially important We found the Cancun Communiqué useful for this purpose and thereby endorsed it Ricoh s previous key actions to tackle climate change In addition to this latest endorsement Ricoh announced its support for the following global initiatives associated the international framework on climate change July 2001 Became a signatory of e emission 55 calling for the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol at the 7th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 7 December 2008 Endorsed the Poznan Communiqué calling for early establishment of post Kyoto framework at the 14th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 14 September 2009 Endorsed the Copenhagen Communiqué calling for early establishment of post Kyoto framework at the 15th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations

    along to a demonstration at the Ricoh Printing Innovation Centre Hodge said We were so impressed with the professionalism of the Ricoh team and the capabilities of the production solution that we immediately entered into discussions for a Ricoh solution she said As a result McDonald s Australia purchased two Ricoh 110 ppm black white production devices for the Sydney based Print Centre With the Ricoh solution we re able to produce perfect bound reports and manuals of up to 400 pages Hodge said With training manuals being one of the Print Centre s major jobs they ve been able to cut days off the production time simply by being able to produce them internally to a professional standard Actually even with the solution we were going to implement prior to deciding on Ricoh having perfect binding capabilities would have meant bringing in a separate dedicated machine that would have taken up an enormous amount of space With the Ricoh solution it s all inline and has minimum space impact Hodge said Another benefit of the new Ricoh system is significant cost savings due to the Print Centre s new ability to charge back costs to individual business units through usage reports Based on the information provided by the new business unit usage reports several large print jobs are now being sent by email saving the company over 35 000 a year McDonald s is also now enjoying a service response time with Ricoh of only two hours where previously they had to wait up to four days for an onsite service call Overall the Ricoh solution and the Ricoh people who work with us have meant our Print Centre now has the print production capabilities that can easily keep pace with the demands of one of the country s
