  • Junior Golf - Port Lincoln Golf Club Inc
    successful Junior Golf Programme for several years providing opportunities for youngsters to learn about the game develop their skills and enjoy participating in a fun safe and challenging sport On alternate Sunday mornings the PLGC s Junior Coordinator Norm Marks hosts two separate junior golf sessions one for Primary School aged children between 9 and 10 30am the other for High School students from 10 30am until Midday Players can expect to receive junior coaching in all facets of the game putting and chipping drills on the practice green iron and wood practice on the driving range mini competitions on the course safety ettiquette and rules training No experience is necessary and some equipment can be provided Parents are encouraged to attend The sessions are free for PLGC Junior Members 2 each for non members Other events that are offered at various times throughout the year include junior golf clinics with visiting golf pros and coaches S A P S A S A qualifying rounds for Year 5 6 and 7 students students who qualify have the opportunity to represent Lower Eyre Peninsula at the Country Championships in Adelaide in September our annual Junior Competition Day in March featuring three

    150m mark for younger less experienced players up to a full 18 holes from mens or womens tee blocks as appropriate encourage young players to enter area and state wide competitions at appropriate levels encourage young players to take advantage of visits by coaches such as Nick McCormack and Jan Douglas b Provide the opportunity to join as a sub junior member less than 13 years at a cost of 50 per annum pro rata after the end of May each year a junior member 13 years but less than 18 years at a cost of 100 per annum pro rata after the end of May each year c Support the Junior Coordinator in running of competitions as required d Support the Junior programme by providing prizes trophies for Junior Competition on the advice of the Junior Coordinator e Expect that all members will set good examples of Course and Clubhouse etiquette f Expect that all members make Junior and Sub Junior members and their parents caregivers feel welcome on the course and in the Clubhouse This includes being prepared to play in competition with those Juniors who have a handicap or are putting in cards in order to gain

    rule 25 1b Fairway Markers If a fairway marker interferes with a player s stance it is permitted to drop the ball within one club length no nearer the hole with no penalty incurred If the ball comes to rest in or on the fairway marker it is deemed to be on fairway and is subject to preferred lies Preferred Lies If the ball comes to rest on the fairway of the hole being played it mat be lifted cleaned and placed within one grip length not nearer the hole The fairway markers are the outer mowed edges and or the dye spots If that is not discernable then the ball must be played as it lies It is not required that the ball be placed back on fairway Staked Trees If a staked tree or shrub or young tree less than 2 club lengths high interferes with a player s stance or swing the ball must be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with Rule 24 2b This does not include old tree stumps with new growth Ground Under Repair Treat abnormal ground conditions for example sand placed to improve the course as GUR Out of Bounds A ball is out of bounds when all of it lies beyond the perimeter fence This also includes the golf club car park Interference to Stance or Swing If interference to a player s stance or swing is caused by any of the following Immovable obstruction Rule 24 2 the ball may be lifted and dropped without penalty in accordance with Rule 24 2b a All roads and marks made by vehicle or implements other than a golf cart b All buildings internal fences and walls c Travelling sprinklers their wires hoses and spray d Distance markers and signs Suspension of

    in handicaps These strokes are allocated to holes as shown on the index on the scorecard and the lower net score wins the hole FOURSOME Played with a partner using one ball The partners play alternately from the teeing grounds and alternately during the play of each hole Penalty strokes do not affect the order of play In handicap match play take strokes according to the difference in handicaps and if a half stroke occurs round upwards to the next whole number CANADIAN FOURSOME Played as a Foursome except that both partners tee off on each hole then select the preferred ball to be played PINEHURST Played as a Canadian Foursome except that on each hole each player hits his second shot with his partner s ball before selecting the preferred ball McKENZIE FOURSOME Played as a Canadian Foursome except that on each hole each player hits his second shot with his own ball before selecting the preferred ball FOUR BALL Two competitors play as partners each playing his own ball The better score of the partners is the score for the hole AMBROSE A team event All tee off then the preferred ball is chosen Move other balls to
