    Valmet 860 4 means yet another step in the development of two of the most productive forwarders on the market says Stefan Jacobsson product manger for forwarders at Komatsu Forest One of the most important new features on both machines is the new bogie design Valmet Comfort Bogie which offers better maneuverability and faster transport Valmet s well proven bogie design has been further refined and now combines increased climbing ability in steep terrain with retained good maneuverability on soft ground What s more we ve kept the same good fuel economy as before The high wheel arch and large bogie suspension have been retained in the new design and together they provide the machine with constant ground pressure a smoother ride and increased stability The second major new feature of the Valmet 840 4 and the Valmet 860 4 is the inclusion of hydraulic height adjustable supports on the Valmet LoadFlex option for easier bunk operation The hydraulic supports make thinning and biomass energy harvesting even more efficient as the height of the supports is easily adjusted Another advantage is that the supports can be lowered even more than the manually adjustable supports which better facilitates transport on a trailer The supports are activated by holding the buttons depressed or using the momentary button and each side is controlled separately Other improvements on the Valmet 840 4 and the Valmet 860 4 include further optimization of the responsive hydrostatic transmission and a 3 4 20 millimeter increase in the distance between the wheel axles to provide more room for tire chains when fitted Both the Valmet 840 4 and the Valmet 860 4 are equipped with a new PC with a remote screen display for even better cab ergonomics The forwarders also have a new software suite for the
