  • Electricity Prices and a Carbon Price | James Purser
the big whinges from the Opposition seems to be that any Carbon price market driven or tax imposed will cause the price of electricity to rise dramatically Leaving aside the fact that electricity prices have risen consistantly over the past few years without any sort of price on carbon every argument has ignored the role that domestic power generation could have in offsetting any future power price rises Simply put an increase in clean domestic power generation can mean a long term decrease in power costs for families A house that is fitted with a solar wind system and a decent battery system could not only be generating their own power and possibly putting back into the local grid they might also be able to generate carbon credits which they can sell on the market Just a thought Blog Catagories Politics environment James Purser s blog Add new comment Comments ignored the role that Permalink Submitted by Anonymous on Tue 08 03 2011 14 12 ignored the role that domestic power generation or the fact you can buy green power from the grid i m currently on 25 green power but will up that to 100 after my next bill
