    The cart shed will house 40 golf carts Myself Mick and John Hewitt were invited to the new Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands This was quite a moving experience the thought and attention to detail of this house is remarkable they have thought of everything from classrooms to play areas computer stations and special sanitising tiles in all the rooms this creates the best possible atmosphere for families going through a traumatic time The West Coast Wine Hartfield Pro Am has donated over 100 000 over the past 7 years and it is good to see our donation is going to a great cause The Pro Am is scheduled for Friday 6th May please support the day play in the competition or buy raffle tickets which will be on sale shortly As I mentioned at the AGM the club have applied to the Shire for funding assistance to upgrade the reticulation throughout the course this is still being processed and we hope to have an answer by the end of May If the club is successful with the application work will commence as soon as possible if we are unsuccessful we will look at upgrading the reticulation in stages and as finances permit The Management Committee participated in a Good Governance course in March a number of changes have been made to the Associations Act and our Constitution will have a couple of amendments which will be presented at the AGM in November Congratulations to Paul Chappell on winning the Senior State Amateur at Melville Glades and to Trevor Hughes finishing fourth The Senior Pennants teams and individual Seniors kicked off on Monday with two wins and a draw good luck to all involved The Women s pennant team are putting up a great fight and narrowly missed out against Kwinana at the Cut on Friday As you may have seen on the website we are looking to name all of the holes on our golf course all suggestions will be reviewed over the coming months with a naming ceremony to be held in July The Asian style restaurant night in April was a great success with over 90 members and guests enjoying some fantastic food and great company The next restaurant night will be on Friday 13th May 2016 check your e mails and the website for more information The Food and Beverage levy is proving a success with members benefitting from the reduced prices and reward point system The Grounds Committee will be looking at the next major reconstruction for the course over the coming months with the practice area the 15th hole and the second green high on the list for renovation Updates will be posted on the website as plans are developed Membership is always a hot topic how do we get more and how do we retain our current members The Management Committee are promoting the club through social media advertising and in the local newspaper our last social media promotion reached over 20 000

    Slider Playing on aerated greens can be bothersome but the process is critical to a putting surface s long term health as this video demonstrates Click here to watch the video Course Superintendents Report Published on 12th April 2016 in Club News Golf News Members supers report April 2016 Chappell wins State Amateur Published on 8th April 2016 in Club News Golf News Guests Latest News Members Chappell Dawson win state senior 8th April 2016 Leaderboard Men s Women s Paul Chappell and Sharon Dawson have taken out the WA Senior Amateur Championships today at Melville Glades Golf Club After a blistering opening round Chappell was a comfortable 6 shot winner shooting rounds of 70 75 and 75 with Victoria s Gregory Rhodes in second and Royal Perth s John Banting a further shot back in third Chappell started his third round slowly with bogeys on 3 6 8 and 9 to be 4 over at the turn and to have the chasers within reach The Hartfield member closed with a 1 under back nine to put the result within doubt highlighted by back to back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes Its Chappell s first WA Senior Championship win after reaching the qualifying age of 55 Even as a senior Chappell has continued to win on the open amateur circuit with wins at the Rockingham Bowl and the Hartfield Open since turning 55 Congratulations Paul on a great win and well done to Trevor Hughes and Mike Dunsmore who finished in the top 10 NAMING OF HOLES Published on 24th March 2016 in Club News Golf News Members Promo Slider SLOW PLAY Published on 18th March 2016 in Golf News Members SLOW PLAY It has been noticeable over last few weeks that the speed of play has been an issue and it is apparent that there a several members that believe its ok to fall a fairway or more behind the group that they are following As of this Saturday 12 th March each group is to nominate a player to write on their card the time that they crossed over after 9 holes and what time they finished This is to also to be done on other competition days being Tuesday Thursday Sunday Each group tees off at 7 minutes intervals and based on last year s times finishing 10 minutes behind the group in front will be accepted Also over the coming weeks there will be match committee members situated at the 6 th 15 th tees taking times as well The aim is to eventually have tees times on the score cards for each individual hole Other things that need to be considered with speed of play Calling a group through when looking for a lost ball must be considered If you are going to take the allowed 5 minutes to look for a ball and there is a group waiting behind you then call them through If you find the ball after you have
