wasn t so far away The Chakra Rhythm class is part of an accredited Certified Metaphysical Practitioner course I joined in January led by Marissa When I found out about this class via Amulet magazine it resonated with a few of my core desired feelings and I just had to do it Amulet magazine is a beautiful publication If you know me I think you ll see why I love it Check it out and decide whether it is something you are into as well My aims this year are to explore and strengthen my intuition and actively deepen my art practice Whilst I had a big creative year last year first art exhibition and 4 markets to prepare for while holding down my daytime profession I had long periods of nothingness due to some challenging personal matters In a couple of weeks I will be at a painting workshop with by Jesse Reno and I cannot wait I m ready to go further with my art making and see what comes out Next month I am joining Mati Rose for her class Daring Adventures in Paint Life Can t wait to experiment play and be free to layer vibrant colour Hmm better overhaul the art room in preparation And for some non link related news I was in last weekend s Sunday Mail Thanks to Simmone from Bleeding Heart Gallery for passing my details to Carly I will expand on this in a near future post for emerging artists who want to know more about organising an exhibition for the first time Have a great weekend everyone and I ll be back again soon with some juicy posts Comments are closed Hello I m Sharyn Gutsy Girl Chieftess multi passionate Spirit Junkie teacher and Sister Soul Medicine Sanctuary Circle

the benefits of positive thinking ever since I was a little girl which helped tremendously as I was growing up and continues to help me today How do you deal with your inner critic I think just being aware of my inner critic is the key When I m aware that a thought comes from my inner critic that it s based in fear it s easier for me to let it go When I m aware enough to recognise it s my inner critic I send it love and then reach for a more helpful thought What has been your greatest challenge in life My greatest challenge has always been fear I ve had intense anxiety all my life and it took me a long time to learn what it was and figure out how to handle it For a long time it ruled me I had many panic attacks and meltdowns But a few years ago I made a decision to start loving myself and put my happiness first and even though it s a journey I m still on and will always be on it s already changed everything My anxiety is much more manageable and I haven t had a panic attack in years If you could give one crucial piece of advice to an emerging artist creative artist entrepreneur what would it be Keep going Persistence really is the key to success Wild Sister wasn t my first attempt at success but it s the one I stuck with the longest even when it didn t look like it was going anywhere and my persistence and determination paid off big time Just keep going keep learning keep making mistakes and keep creating How do you overcome creative blocks or periods of procrastination I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve when it comes to creative blocks or procrastination The first I try to make it fun If I ve got a task I really don t want to do I figure out a way to make it fun so it will be enjoyable and easier to finish If I m creatively blocked I switch my focus to another creative task to get my juices flowing or I go outside and spend some time away from the project If you could go anywhere what would be your chosen destination and why Ever since I was a kid all I ever wanted to do was travel I ve done a lot already but right now my chosen destination is Europe mainly Italy Switzerland France and the UK I want to devour the food the art the culture all of it I know for sure that the moment we realise that happiness is a choice self love is essential we invoke an inner outer transformation finally begin to become our own heroes Jen Saunders Short and Sw e et Favourite song There s Hope by India Arie Favourite quote Don t ask what the world needs Ask

for me to forge ahead towards my goals was to ignore what my inner critic was saying and trudge on anyway What has been your greatest challenge in life It was my own healing journey that led me to want to coach and help others As a teenager I had crippling anxiety and panic attacks that became worse into my 20 s I was on anti depressants at a young age and was in some form of mainstream therapy for about 8 years still my anxiety remained in fact it had gained power over me I stopped leaving the house unless I really needed to When I did go out I became paranoid about being close to an exit just in case I would sit awake in bed at night trembling crying and wishing my anxiety would leave me alone In 2005 I discovered meditation which changed everything I forced myself to get my butt to a weekly class despite feeling anxious and it completely changed my life I learnt about the power of the present moment the magic of guided imagery and the capacity for self healing that was already within me In 2006 I became a qualified spiritual healer and meditation teacher and even though anxiety was still a part of my life I was no longer afraid of it Then I discovered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT and it helped me get over those final hurdles to become anxiety free I was amazed at how simple yet effective ACT was for me so I decided to become an ACT practitioner as well I absolutely LOVE helping people discover mindfulness tap into their spirituality and life their best life If you could give one crucial piece of advice to an emerging artist creative artista entrepreneur what would it be Don t believe the internal voice that says you re not good enough If you let it stop you then you ll probably never start putting your work in front of people Don t be afraid of being judged Don t be discouraged by criticism Believe in yourself and others will be attracted to your passion How do you overcome creative blocks or periods of procrastination To be honest this is not something that I struggle with all that much I am always bursting with ideas that I can t wait to let them out Some days though I ll set out with a particular goal and end up switching tasks because I m just not resonating with what I m writing or it s beginning to feel forced I like to flow wherever my own energy and mood takes me Sometimes I m rearing to go and dive deep into a big project and other times I just write down lists and ideas to run with later when I m feeling up for it Because I love my work SO much I rarely procrastinate BUT if I do I never fight it I just use it as an

business Two aspects I love most I love the very fact that I can share my works with others and create for them these are truly special connections I am grateful and it makes my heart sing when people value my works and decide to make my creations a part of their life That keeps my creative juices flowing and then I only want to create more and more I love how my heart guides me I don t have any formal qualifications in art design or jewellery making and every work I create is an outcome of how I intuitively explore the possibilities around and within me When I work with reclaimed objects in their unaltered form I surrender to the process and enjoy the surprise of discovery Ah imagination knows no limits Best piece of advice you have ever received and how it has influenced your life I must say that I have always trusted my intuition and it has always been the best source of advice for me Whatever I do I need to feel that it s right for me otherwise no matter how thoughtful the advice is if it doesn t resonate with me I don t follow it How do you deal with your inner critic My inner critic has been my life companion since my early childhood Nowadays we get along pretty well When my inner critic shows up and I feel it wants to take over I come back to my why within myself I reflect on each sensation I experience when I paint And I start creating I dive into the process and I ask myself how it feels The answer is always the same I feel alive at home and this is what matters What has been the greatest challenge in your life I think my greatest challenges come from a series of traumatic experiences in my life They were spread out in time with the first one occurring when I was 20 and others within following 15 years All those experiences had great impact on how I perceived my femininity self worth self respect throughout many years They disturbed my boundaries trust and instilled a deep sense of guilt in me Only recently I had started healing and I think reconnecting with my passion from childhood and devoting to painting is a part of healing process my body and soul was yearning for Opening up again to creativity is a part of my journey to self discovery love and forgiveness towards others and myself If you could give one crucial piece of advice to an emerging artist creative artista entrepreneur what would it be Follow your heart and trust your intuition Express yourself freely and don t be afraid not to know Believe in your power and let the world see your uniqueness there is no one like you on this planet If you could have dinner with any woman well known or otherwise who would it be and
