    a massive restoration program on their main entrance to drastically reduce queue waiting times and give visitors a more interesting place to enter the zoo The original iconic building is heritage listed so the zoo has decided to expand the entrance and restore the original building to its former glory underslab insulationThe new entrance will have a Hydronic Floor Heating System supplied and installed by ComfortHeat Floor Heating Systems The system will keep the concrete floor slab at a constant temperature year round reducing the need for other heating cooling systems and keeping running costs down to a minimum Hydronic Floor Heating Systems are an efficient way to heat large open spaces for extended periods of time but they do require constant input Heat from the system continuously leaks out of the slab and into the ground around it so the heating system has to work harder to maintain this increasing running costs and putting extra strain on the system Foamular Extruded Polystyrene was placed below the heating system limiting the heat transfer into the ground Foamular can also be placed on the side edge of the slab wrapping the whole slab in insulation and creating a continuous thermal barrier

    About Us Case Studies FAQ Gallery Environmental Strategy News Contact Us Foamular Extruded Polystyrene used to waterproof the New Port Botany Authority Headquarters The new Port Botany Authority headquarters is nearing completion and will soon open its doors Port Botany is going through a 1billion upgrade the biggest Australian port upgrade in 30 years To deal with the increased workload the Port Botany Authority needed a state of the art headquarter to manage the expanding port GRG Waterproofing has used Foamular many times before in protected roof membrane assemblies The Foamular was laid down on top of the roofing membrane and then a slip sheet was placed over the Foamular Ballast was then placed on top to weigh down the Foamular and to provide a low maintenance roof In order to become a green star rated building the Port Botany Authority needed to comply with some very strict guidelines The engineers specified 90mm thick Foamular with an R value of 3 2 dramatically reducing heat transfer from the roof into the building insulated roof waterproofConstruction company Lucas Stuart joined forces with GRG Waterproofing to install 600m2 of Foamular Extruded Polystyrene in the protected roof membrane system Foamular was used to

    Park The 100 million building is owned jointly by AMP and Sunsuper and is located on the fringe of Brisbane CBD offering panoramic views of the Brisbane River and CBD skyline CDOP 4 s Architects worked hard to achieve a 5 Star Green Star Office Design v2 rating by the Green Building Council of Australia for environmental sustainability making it one of only a few non CBD buildings in Brisbane to achieve the rating Leading construction company ADCO Constructions joined forces with experienced waterproofing company QB Waterproofing to install 1550 m2 of 100mm thick Foamular Extruded Polystyrene in the protected roof membrane system This gave an R Value of 3 57 contributing to the buildings energy efficiency and to the crucial 5 Star rating On top of the Foamulars green credentials the building also includes double glazed windows to reduce heat transfer an advanced air conditioning system to reducing electricity consumption and a grey water recycling systems The new building has 17 081 sq m of office space spread over 12 floors most with outdoor areas and world class views The building contains 189 individual car park spaces but also 149 bike racks to encourage cyclists It is located near
