    proposal These descriptions will allow lawyers to better assess the client s needs and suit their responses accordingly To get started and submit a proposal click here 2 Proposal Sent and Tenders Received The Proposal Information is emailed to lawyers who have matching skills experience and characteristics such as location Importantly the Personal Details are not included in the information provided to lawyers this keeps client s identity and their legal position confidential Once the proposal is sent matching lawyers then have the opportunity of reviewing the proposal and deciding whether they wish to compete for the legal work by submitting a tender Lawyers have up until 6 00pm on the day of the deadline which is a minimum 3 business days after the proposal was submitted to complete and submit a tender on the e brief website Following the expiry of the deadline clients then receive an email from e brief letting them know how many different tenders were received in response to their proposal From the link provided in the email clients can choose to review the tenders by logging onto e brief com au and making payment of the small fee of 15 3 Tender review and lawyer engagement After completing check out e brief will process the payment and email the client with the tenders in pdf form Each tender will have information about the lawyer their skills and experience their location and their proposed fees whether they be hourly rates fixed fees or other On review of the tenders the client can decide but is under no obligation to engage their preferred lawyer The engagement occurs outside the e brief process and can be arranged by the client simply emailing or telephoning the lawyer using the contact details the lawyer provides in their tender The

    an annual subscription fee of 150 inc GST e brief does not receive a commission from lawyers fees nor does it earn a sucess fee should a lawyer be successful in winning a tender Is e brief confidential Yes in order to keep the client s personal details and legal position confidential the e brief process is designed so that the client s personal details are not provided to lawyers unless the client wants to specifically reveal it in the part of the legal proposal that is provided to lawyers called the Proposal Information section Once a client is ready to engage a laywer they can do so by contacting the lawyer of their choice After I submit a proposal how long do I have to wait to receive tenders During the proposal stage the client will be asked when the tenders are required to be received To ensure that lawyers have adequate time to respond and to allow the client to obtain the maximum number of tenders e brief s minimum time is 3 business days Therefore if the client submits a proposal on a Monday lawyers will have until 6pm on the Thursday to respond assuming that there are no public holidays falling in between If I have further questions for a tendering lawyer how do I proceed The client can either contact the lawyer directly or if confidentiality is still desired the client can email e brief s support team see details on our Contact Us page and e brief can make the necessary enquiry on the client s behalf Do I have to accept one of the tenders No the client has complete discretion in deciding whether to accept a tender and whether a legal service provider is engaged There is no requirement for the client
