    Festival Totally Huge New Music Festival hearNOW Festival SoftSoftLoud and Darlington Concerts With 2 10 she has broadcast live for ABC Classic FM and regularly appears as an orchestral pianist with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra Emily is a member of the Tango inspired group Guapo and has a piano duo partnership with Adam Pinto with whom she recently collaborated with West Australian Ballet in performances of Rachmaninoff s Suite No 2 for 2 Pianos Emily has a keen interest in contemporary repertoire and has commissioned a major solo piano work 3 Studies in Black and White from Roger Smalley She gave the premiere performances of this work both in Australia and Japan At the 2009 Perth International Arts Festival she performed Steve Reich s Proverb with the Theatre of Voices under Paul Hillier At for the 2010 Festival she was a one of 5 performers of the multi piano work Canto Ostinato which performed for a sold out hall to critical acclaim She subsequently performed the work again in Melbourne where it was recorded for broadcast by ABC Classic FM More recently she has been appearing with the new music ensemble Etica which has recorded several works for broadcast

    where they received intensive tutoring and perform in areas around New South Wales and Victoria In 2011 the Quartet welcomes Paul Wright as first violinist Professor Paul Wright is in demand as a director leader of leading ensembles in Australia He is a leading exponent of both the modern and the eighteenth century violin and is one of Australia s most versatile instrumentalists He began violin studies at the age of 8 and three years later was awarded a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England He went on to study at the Guildhall School in London and in 1978 was accepted as a student at the Juilliard School in New York He has performed with many ensembles in Australia and America including the Australian String Quartet the Australian Chamber Orchestra Ensemble of the Classic Era and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra Paul has been a soloist with many major Australian orchestras since 1989 Since 1991 he has directed Ensemble Arcangelo an eighteenth century period instrument group based in Perth He is co recipient of an Australian Research Council grant enabling him to investigate aspects of French Baroque music especially in relation to the French Cantata Paul also performs Eastern European gypsy music with Kashtany Duo Paul was a member of ANAM Faculty from 2009 to 2010 Coffee with Sophie and Kathy Background Sophie I was born in Perth I finished my BMus Hons at UWA in 2005 and from 2007 09 completed a MMus at UWA specialising in baroque cello Kathy I am also from Perth Education 1998 2001 Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz at WAAPA 2003 2010 Bachelor of Music Performance in Classical Music with first class honours at UWA Most memorable performance Sophie without a doubt performing the Lalo Cello concerto with the WA Youth Orchestra
