    having near peerless command of the instrument The West Australian Paget has performed extensively on Australian radio and his recordings include two solo guitar discs Kaleidoscope a celebration of the guitar s multicultural horizon and Midsummer s Night released on the Melbourne based Move Records label http www move com au disc cfm 3322 A magical selection of works by Walton Barrios and Sculthorpe this disc has received extensive radio play on ABC Classic FM Paget has been a recipient of numerous prestigious academic scholarships and awards including the Beazley Medal for the highest tertiary entrance score in Western Australia the JA Wood Prize for the dux of five faculties at the University of WA a Fulbright Postgraduate Award and a Hackett Studentship The latter two scholarships enabled Paget to complete higher qualifications in the United States Studying at the Eastman School of Music in upstate New York with the esteemed guitarist and pedagogue Dr Nicholas Goluses he completed the Master of Music guitar performance and literature the Master of Arts music theory pedagogy and the Doctorate of Musical Arts guitar performance and literature which included research centring on the guitar music of Peter Sculthorpe Paget also takes a keen interest in performance practice playing on theorbo and nineteenth century guitar and continues to perform record and develop his research interests in multiple areas As president of the Classical Guitar Society of Western Australia Paget has played a significant role in the continued success of the Western Australian Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival which draws together some fifty guitar ensembles on an annual basis as well as bringing to Perth a visiting artist and adjudicator of significant international stature Coffee Break Interview Jonathan Paget Name Nickname I ve always been Jonathan although my students have been known to refer to me

    National Academy of Music in South Melbourne Kylie has been first prize winner of the Geelong Advertiser Music Scholarship and the National Open Concerto Competition in Fremantle receiving the Gascoigne Silver Jubilee Award As soloist she has performed with the Geelong Philharmonic Orchestra the Melbourne Youth Orchestra the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra and the Australian National Academy of Music Orchestra In Sydney in 2008 she appeared as soloist with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra leading Vivaldi s Four Seasons and last year appeared as soloist with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra in the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Concert to commemorate the 60 year reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Kylie has participated in the Accademia Chigiana Musicale Summer Music Course in Siena Italy studying with Boris Belkin and also chamber music studies with Bruno Canino at the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove in Cornwall England In 2011 Kylie traveled to Vienna Austria to commence Master Studies at the Konservatorium Wien with 1st Concertmaster of the Wiener Symphoniker Florian Zwiauer In 2009 Kylie was awarded a place in the Sydney Symphony Fellowship Program performing a series of chamber music concerts around Sydney and regional NSW and was given the opportunity to have masterclasses with Vladimir
