  • Babymoon holiday | Babymoon Holiday | Babymoon Peer Pressure
born someone asked me what I was getting as a push present having no idea what they were talking about but not wanting to look like an idiot I just said I hadn t decided yet and should probably get onto it and then quickly Googled push present next time I was alone Are you serious giving a mother a present for having a baby Having seen child birth it certainly is harder than anything I have ever done in my life but honestly giving a women a present because they had to go thru labour I see this as a total insult to the baby that child is the greatest present anyone could ever get What other moons can we come up with I m thinking we could look at popularising the divorcemoon so when you have gone broke from paying for all your honeymoons babymoons and push presents and she leaves you for someone with more money you can pay for the new couple to go on a lovely holiday as their divorcemoon I guess there is already a divorcemoon it s called not having a prenup Check Your Passport Before Traveling It is possible I am just bitter considering our babymoon to Fiji didn t exactly go to plan Arriving at the airport I only had three months left on my passport and apparently that is not enough to get on the flight you need six months minimum left on you passport to fly from Sydney to Fiji for a 5 day holiday Not exactly an accurate expiry date then as far as I m concerned but that is probably worthy of another rant some other time So she gets on the plane without me and I rush off to get an emergency passport in the city so I can hopefully join her the following day 6hrs and a little over 400 later I have a new passport and have a seat on the next flight out early the next day I arrive to rain which doesn t let up for the whole trip all tours and expeditions from the resort are cancelled during our stay due to weather and then we come back to Sydney We had a massive resident gecko the size of my leg living on our roof for the whole time which left me a little bit uneasy that I was going to wake up spooning it not my wife but I guess at least I could sleep knowing a Gecko that big was obviously very good at catching spiders So our babymoon was it more relaxing than being at work Absolutely Good holiday No Worth it Debatable Pregnancy Travel Restrictions Advice regarding a babymoon is for women with low risk pregnancies wanting to fly somewhere for their holiday then they travel in the second trimester and not to fly beyond the 36 week mark Preferably taking a short car journey is safer and cheaper than flying and remember if you are choosing

cause but booster seats the law to age 7 come on Are we heading the way that one day it will be illegal and considered negligent to have an under 3 off the leash when you re down at the beach or in other public places I sincerely hope not I guess I am just worried that we have moved from introduction of the leash to acceptance of parents using leashes to the baby leash being considered quite normal parenting and common place then just how far away are we from them being the rule For all of you parents out there interested in protecting your child then here is some information regarding leashes Walking Equipment for Your Child Naturally children like to forge ahead on walks and explore the world around them walking child on a leash is much more enjoyable to do with children that don t constantly pull on their leash However by the time parents usually put their young children on a leash many kids have spent months forming that exploring habit which doesn t lend itself well to a pleasant Sunday stroll with your child as they will have already developed a strong pulling habit There are many kinds of leashes harnesses and collars to consider We discuss the pros and cons of some of the most common choices to help you choose the equipment that s right for you and your dog child What Kind Of Leash Make sure you pick a leash that you feel comfortable using Some people prefer the feel of leather leashes while others find different materials easier on the hands Keep in mind that a type of leash that s appropriate in one situation might not be appropriate in others For example you might walk your child in the park on a retractable leash so they can roam and get lots of exercise However you ll probably want to switch to a leather or fabric leash when in situations where you need to keep your child closer to you and away from others such as the mall A good question to ask yourself is Is the equipment I ve chosen effective in reducing pulling Or does the equipment at least make it easier for me to handle my child 3 6foot Leather or Fabric Leash Pros Great choice for regular walks and training child Cons limits the distance your child can roam Retractable Leash Pros appropriate for walks in the park or other open areas where your child can explore further away from you Cons inappropriate for training your child not to pull on the leash can be dangerous as may get wound around objects or body parts and difficult to handle Wrist leash Pros the wrist leash is light weight and small enough to put in your pocket when you let your child off the lead Cons shoulder elbow and wrist injuries to you or your child Harness Pros some great back pack options exist in harness leashes

  • Flying With A Baby | Travel With Baby | Flying With A Baby Overseas
our daughter not skilled parents by any means but definitely coping We had all gone out for lunch day one home from the hospital and dealt with numerous social situations since that initial meal in public and everything had gone off relatively well without a hitch But planes were different you couldn t suddenly decide it was a bad idea and ask the waiter for a doggy bag and run home to safety Turns out in hindsight that 2 month trip was probably the easiest one we have done mostly because she had no idea where she was as long as we are there to give her cuddles or milk then she couldn t care less For all our daughter knew she was just chilling in our lounge room at home the whole flight In general I would have to say our daughter is a very good traveller however I will follow such a statement by allowing so far to be added So far our daughter is a very good traveller as I am sure once she reaches the wonderful age of tantrums and throwing wobblies for the sake of throwing them I will probably quickly change my opinion of her We have flown at age 2 months 6 months and 9 months and soon to be 10 months All 3 5 hr flights so nothing too adventurous I think she has probably cried for only a total of about 2 minutes on each flight however every minute she cries feels like an hour as you are stressing thinking what if she doesn t stop Fact is crying for only 2 minutes in any 3 hr period of the day would probably be a world record for her wherever we were Tips On Flying With A Baby The following worked for us flying with a baby from new born 1 yr old As a disclaimer I would like to state here that this is based on 3 5 hr flights only taking on more than this in one go still sends shivers down my spine Most airlines will allow you to check a couple of items specifically for the baby like a stroller car seat port a cot which wont count towards your total baggage allowance So take what ever you need to make the other end of the trip easier I have read some people recommend not taking your car seat on a flight as baggage handlers don t use gloves and you should never use a car seat if it s been in a accident and you don t know how they will handle your seat Seriously lighten up some exposure to germs is a good thing and it really wasn t that long ago that as a baby you would sit on your mums lap when driving places in the car and you turned out ok Often you can use your stroller till you board and they will take it at the gate personally I like to

  • Birth - A Man's Perspective | Natural Birth | Fathers At Birth
Not to mention you are given an exact due date and start time therefore can make sure you get a good nights sleep the night before the race Child birth on the other hand seems you don t get any of that Your body gets more and more deconditioned throughout your pregnancy and you have no way of mentally preparing because your body is going to decide at the least convenient point that it s go time The likelihood of getting a good nights sleep the night before let alone in the three months prior is zero So true to form for us I use us like I actually did something it all kicks off at midnight We head off to the hospital at which point they decide she has had pre eclampsia as we had suspected all along Her blood pressure and baby s heart rate as a result had to be monitored continuously throughout labour So no water birth there goes plan A 12 hours later lunchtime the following day she gives birth to our beautiful girl Having had no sleep taken no pain relief and not made a sound the whole time other than after approximately 11 hours she looked at me and said with a pained smile on her face wow this is intense Where was all the screaming the fingernails digging into my arms the cursing and abusing me for doing this to her Not even a swear word the whole time Being a physiotherapist or physioterrorist as many love to call us my job many think is about inflicting pain on people all day I don t totally disagree that certainly seems to be a big part of it and I have to say I have no qualms about doing it I don t get a kick out of hurting people and do so only in the belief that what I am doing will ultimately bring them relief But watching a natural birth and seeing someone in this much pain is different this was a whole new level of pain fatigue and endurance to what I had ever seen Truly Amazing she just went into some sort of trance state and did what she had to do Watching someone you love in this much pain and being helpless is very hard Add to that your unborn baby s heart rate dropping out regularly when she moved or the monitor moved getting you thinking the worst made the whole experience so very traumatic Many parents seem to state that the day their son or daughter was born was the best day of their life Needless to say this added to my overall anticipation of the event Honestly at the time it really didn t deliver Probably as an experience it was the most horrendous day of my life Only now many months down the track do I see what they mean It isn t the day itself it really is about what that day brings
