  • Richard Musgrave-Evans — Artworx Gallery
Richard Musgrave Evans was born in Melbourne in 1968 and grew up in Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula He is a self taught full time professional artist now residing in South Australia Over the years Richard has developed a style and mobile studio which enable him to work large scale first hand whilst in remote parts of the country He says working in the landscape is not the same as studio work The energy isolation and insignificance of man s presence are strongly and hauntingly felt Richard feels this gives the work a direct message to the viewer of the artists struggle with the beauty and fear of this unforgiving and ancient landscape The studio trailer Richard has built allows him to take up to 20 large stretched linens in to the field and store the wet oil paintings while they dry This enables him to spend extended periods of time to absorb and relay his personal interpretation of the landscape Richard s paintings are created in one sitting with speed and energy before the feeling and moment is lost Working with large loaded palette knives and brushes and being so immersed in the subject creates a vibrant one off

  • Katie Wyatt — Artworx Gallery
She skilfully drips and layers paint onto the canvas to tell a story with the final images evolving sometimes subconsciously from these layers Katie explores form and line using texture allowing shapes to unfold from the thick and generous application of impasto and paint The light is reflected and emphasised from the sculptural effects created by the textured finish The final stage of varnishing evens out the surface and increases

little birds and bush that surround my studio to the rolling hills that lead me to the sea As art and life become entwined I find myself seeking balance harmony and excitement in both while maintaining clarity and integrity Reflection on a representational work leads me to abstraction as I search for the best way to describe a scene or idea At this point often a phrase or song will

contemporary art gallery on South Australia s Fleurieu Peninsula Victoria Rolinksi March 15 2016 Llama Blue Painting is not just a passion for plein air on site artist Victoria but an obsession one that has paid off with coveted accolades in numerous Exhibitions and Art Shows including First Prize and Best Exhibit at The 2015 Royal Adelaide Show Victoria s love of our great Australian landscape and her belief that the infinite beauty of nature is only revealed when painting outdoors is reflected in her impressionistic paintings I want the painting to feel spontaneous and of the moment brushstrokes to be instinctive spirited and textural This is easier to achieve outdoors where there is a greater urgency because of the constraints of time light and weather I strive to paint with an observant eye and a loose hand Victoria s greatest reward is the warmth of the viewer s response when they see her work which she hopes captures her feelings towards our beautiful country That time of the Day Coastal Surf SOLD Salt Air SOLD Colours of Summer Harbour Boats Resting Fishing Boat SOLD Towards the Beach Whispering Sands Sandy Coastline The Ocean Back to All Artists 3 Likes
